Isn't the picture neat? Anna Pulliam sent it to me. :-) I'll be sure and take a picture myself if I see any of those guys in Aussie. I've promised people that I'll take a bunch of pictures of cool things I see there. Australia has some pretty amazing sights. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks to Anna for showing me those, too. Do you guys like the song? I think I want to keep it on here forever...so sorry if you get tired of it. Hehe. :-) Charity | 12:21 pm Comments-[ comments.]

Change of plans...we're going to Australia January 26th. We have the tickets and everything. The cheap seats for January 9th were sold out. The sad thing about going the 26th, is that we will totally skip Benjamin's birthday. We'll leave here on a Thursday (the 26th) and get there on a Saturday (the 28th). Benji's birthday is the 27th and it will be gone forever and aye. Weird, huh!? Poor buddy...we'll just have to sing to him in the middle of the flight or something. It's kind of cool, though, don't you think? So yeah, you guys will have to stick with our family for a little longer after all. Tough. ;-) I really need to get upstairs...my younger siblings are attempting to put up Christmas decorations while my mom isn't here. We have so many decorations, it's not even funny. It's really fun for a while, then we all get tired and grumpy. Hehe, we try, though. That's what counts. Christmas music is playing and I am in a great mood. I was prepared to not really have much of a Christmas this year, but I guess we will after all. I don't know what I'm going to do about presents, though. What do you know, it's 12:34! Not as good as 11:11, but it's still cool! :-D E D I T: One of the most amazing songs I've ever heard - "For Me This is Heaven". This is an a capella version of the Jimmy Eat World Song. I'm not positive of the name of the a capella group...isn't it incredible?! Thanks to Scott Porter for this. Charity | 4:34 am Comments-[ comments.]

Wow, I didn't know people would get so emotional about my thinking of quitting my blog and using my Xanga. I guess it was a pretty dumb idea. I was just annoyed that Blogger wouldn't post my pictures and it wasn't loading well for people. How's it doing now? Well, I have nothing exciting to post on here. I had a 'movie marathon' with Mary, Mary, Grace, and Ellen last night. It's the first time I've had them over here in a long time. We watched some weird movies. The first one was "Fried Green Tomatoes". Grace loved it for some reason. Hehe it was kind of funny/good in some parts... but overall, I wouldn't recommend it. In fact, I'd probably recommend that you didn't see it. After that, we watched "Million Dollar Baby". Allen told us how horrible it was, so we were prepared for the horrific ending. That is definitely not on my list of favorite movies. If you've seen the whole thing, you'll know why. The ending just ruins it all. We then watched "Finding Neverland". We started it around 11:00 p.m. and I fell asleep after the first half hour or so. I woke up at the very end ("Just believe, Peter!!) and was wide-awake. I talked to Ellen for a while until Mary said she could hear us and wanted to go to sleep. We woke up this moring to Mary shouting, "It's snowing outside! And it's on the ground!" I jumped off of the floor and stood up on a chair to see out the window. (Never jump and stand on things right after waking up... I was so dizzy/asleep I almost fell off!) Too bad the snow seems to be melting now... I think I will be helping my mom prepare for our TWO Thanksgiving dinners for the rest of today. It should be busy, but fun. Maybe I'll post what I'm thankful for later... Quote of the post: "There's a reason they're named after underwear." --Zachary ~He commented this while we were watching "Million Dollar Baby". The movie is about a gi'rl who gets trained to do boxing. Get it? Verse of the post: "Oh thank the LORD for He is good. His mercy endures forever!" --Psalm 136:1 Song of the post: "Wake Me Up When September Ends" --Greenday ~I know it's not September, but I still like this song. And the music video is cute, no matter what *ahem* some people say! Charity | 5:20 am Comments-[ comments.]

I think I'm going to quit my blog and just use my Xanga. It seems to work better and it's kind of a waste of time to post on two blogs. www.xanga.com/charityruth Check it out. :-) Charity | 5:34 am Comments-[ comments.]

WE HAVE OUR VISA! We received it yesterday in the mail. My dad is ecstatic. Our estimated time of departure is January 9th. My dad wishes it could be sooner, while the rest of us are relieved that we will most likely get to stay for Christmas. And for Maria and me, that means Winter Conference!! It's not written in stone yet, but it looks like that's what we're leaning towards. Obviously, only God knows what our final plans will be. The semi-strange thing is, I am incredibly excited, as well! It just seems kind of unexpected because when we first considered going, I didn't handle it very well ~ Those of you who were at ECHO saw my tears. But I've been praying that God would give me a different perspective on the whole thing, and He really has. I've come to realize a number of things: *It's only for two years (most likely). *This is an amazing oppertunity. *This looks to be God's will for my family and me right now. *I can hardly wait to meet the people there! *I can trust God. Completely and sincerly. As I look forward to it, I am trying to also get the perspective that my mom has ~ it's going to be a TON of work to move! Right now, we are praying that God will provide a buyer for our house (which we trust He will...in His perfect time and way). We're also praying for wisdom concerning if/when we should have an auction and sell most of our things. Just looking around, I'm beginning to comprehend just how much stuff we have! Pray that we'll have the self-control to get rid of most of it. Now, moving on to other subjects... I've been really spoiled lately. I've gotten to do fun things the past several weekends. Two weeks ago, I went to Flo Faris's house in Lafayette. I got to spend the night Sunday night and the spent all day Monday with her. First we went to her classes at Ivy Tech, then we spend the rest of the afternoon at the Saunders's. I love spending time with both Flo and the Saunders! That Monday night, my family came to Lafayette to have dinner with the Harts. They are from Australia and are living in the Lafayette RP church for 9 months. Graeme Hart is doing his internship there for seminary (something like that...). They are a wonderful family and we had a great time with them. Last weekend, I got to go to the Pulliams from Friday till Sunday. Anna and I had a blast talking, listening to Odysseys, shopping, watching movies, eating pizza, talking some more, arguing with David, taking tons of pictures, and going to her concert. There are some pictures on my Xanga if you want to see them. This coming weekend, Maria and I are first having Ruth and Ellie over to spend the night Friday night, then we are going to Lafayette (again!) and spending the night Saturday night there. I am so excited! I love doing things with friends (who doesn't!?). Have a wonderful, blessed weekend, all! Quotes of the post: David (to Anna and me): I'm skinnier than both of you combined! Me: Nuh-uh! *pause* Oh wait... yeah you are. Anna: Mom, we feel really sick (talking about me and herself). We aren't even eating the cookies we made. Mrs. Pulliam: Wow...that must be serious! Verse of the post: "We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." --2 Corinthians 4:8-10 -->Carrianne mentioned this verse last night during prayer meeting concerning the people in Sudan and the team going there. You could keep the RP missions team in your prayers ~ Especially Heather Huizing and the Wards. Song of the post: "I Will Be Here" --Steven Curtis Chapman Charity | 3:45 am Comments-[ comments.]

*My eyebrows are several shades darker than my hair (they always have been). *On ECHO, I chipped my front tooth by taking a price tag off of Mary Ray's sunglasses with my teeth. (I'll know why you're staring at my teeth next time you see me! hehe!) *I love watching country music videos. *The first movie I cried during was "Pinnochio" (the version with Jonathan Tayler Thomas--the Jr. High gi'rl heart-throb!). *I played with Barbies until age 12. *My eylashes are blon'de at the top and get darker at the ends (Allen's are like that too, I noted once). *The summer after seventh grade, I tried out for the Jr. High cheerleading squad, made it, and later that summer called the coach and quit (before it even really started). *When I forgot my notebook for a class, I used loose leaf paper then later glued the pages into my class notebook with rubber cement. *I've been to Conceco Fieldhouse three times in my life. The first time I sat a few rows from the top. The second, I sat in the very front row. The third (last night) I sat in the very top row. *I've only been out of the country twice - to Canada both times. (And that barely counts) *I've walked through 2 casinos in Las Vegas. (It is illegal for a minor to stop when walking through one, though.) *I've been to COFAMIKOI or International Conference every year of my life, except when my dad was in presbytery. *I once made a birthday cake for my dog. *In my first Christian school, my family made up 1/5 of the entire student body (there were five of us attending. Do the math.) *When I was younger, I ate many things in my yard, including dirt, "pickle-flowers", weeds, onion grass, and honey-suckles. *I was the youngest one in my family to learn how to properly hold my spoon. (It's a spoon, not a shovel!) *My siblins and I used to make up songs about everything--from Jack-O-Lanterns to Short-Cuts, and everything inbetween. *My siblings and I would make for hours outside on days our grandparents were coming to visit. We sat on our little wall in our front yard, sang songs, played insturments, and held up signs that said "Honk! Grandma and Grandpa are coming!" *When I was around 9-11, my reading lists consisted of dozens of Boxcar Children books, the Babysitters Club, Mary-Kate and Ashley "mysteries", and Elsie Dinsmore. *When I was three years old, I was so terrified of the movie "E.T." that when my family watched it, I would hide in my closet and not come out. As the story goes, I was even to scared to come out to go to the bathroom...so I got a little wet. Hehe. *In our church in Evansville, I used to play "Saber-tooth Tiger" with all the little boys in my church. (Guess who was the saber-tooth tiger?) Well, I think I'm done for now. That was a lot of fun. I love mentally going back through memories. I almost wish I was still really little. :-) Quote of the post: "I wish I could be nine forever." --Annie Sturm Verse of the post: "O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether." --Psalm 139:1-4 Song of the post: "Streets of Heaven" --Sherri Austine Charity | 7:45 am Comments-[ comments.]

I am really happy right now. I've been in a great mood all day. (Well, I wasn't in a wonderful mood earlier this morning, but I got over it...) This morning, while raking leaves, I found joy in thinking about the "go to the ant" verse (and the Judy Rogers song! ;-)). Also, I enjoyed the Youth Group Bible study today. I think we had some good discussion, and I learned some new things. I watched "A Time To Kill" with my siblings and got pretty teary at the end of it. (Not sure if you actually call it crying if my eyes just welled up a bit.) And I had so many goosebumps, it hurt (hehe). Then I went upstairs and picked a chicken that I cooked. It was amazing! See, I opened up the middle of the chicken and looked at it's organs. I know that probably sounds disgusting and way out of character for me, but it was so neat! It was kind of aweing to realize the fact that I was holding a tiny little heart in my hands. I showed Benjamin and Tamara and they had about the same reaction I did - "ewww!" at first then "cool!" It made me think about how awesome God is in creating all the creatures on the earth. I proceeded to clean up the kitchen, singing "My Fair Lady", "Phantom of the Opera" and then some Psalms. I decided to post a bit on my blog before I go have my quiet time and go to bed. I guess I just wanted to kind of share my joy with you all. :-) Before I forget, I need to do the "five random facts" that I was 'tagged' to do. Here we go: 1. I am currently reading some books by Dee Henderson for a second time. 2. I absolutely LOVE Chinese food. 3. I do anything from memory better if I don't really think about it (don't expect that to make much sense...) 4. I keep having these urges to cut my hair really short. 5. I usually enjoy taking notes on anything. I hope those are random enough...I'm sure I could've gone on! Ah, one last thing! Check out our family website! If you register, you can access some more things. My dad is still in the process of designing it. Quote of the post: "The heart is a strange thing. Strong enough to survive. Weak enough to break over an unkind word." --Christy Pulliam (found this in an old post) Verse of the post: "This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Wow, I started my blog on October 18, 2003. That's almost exactly two years ago. The first day I had my blog, I posted SEVEN times! I was going through some of my old posts and they are HILARIOUS! I was so...I don't know...carefree, in a way. My posts were super short most of the time and consisted of things about my family, friends (including those at my old school), and my blon'de moments. (Okkkay...so maybe it's not all that different! ;~))Also, there was this hilarious post that David Pulliam wrote when I gave him my password to do something to my blog. I remember being so mad when he first did it, and now I just think it's really funny. Also, there was the time when Mary Ray (under the influence of Hannah) changed my username and password so I couldn't get on my blog and posted that "I" thought that "The Passion of the Christ" was the greatest movie ever and took back everything I'd ever said against it (or something like that). Now that made me REALLY mad! Again, though, I just laugh thinking about it. So, if you ever want a laugh, go look at my old posts. I was such a dork! :-P The other night, I went in my room and started listening to my Judy Rogers CD. Who else used to listen to that when they were little?! It was so fun listening to it again! (Call me weird, but I still like it!) One of the songs is called "What Will You Say Today?" It is meant for younger children, but it is still very thought-provoking for anyone. It talks about the verse in Proverbs that says the tongue is like a fire and can either build up or destroy. I wish I could get it on here so I could play it on my blog, but I don't know how. If any of you still have the CD from when you were younger, listen to it sometime! Here is a picture of our group in Southfield, MI for Fall Ministry. I tried to put more on here, but my computer is being slow. ![]() Top to bottom, Left to Right: Flo, Christy, Libby, David, Luke, Cathy, Noah, Luke Beth, Me, Jason, Ken Quote of the post: "Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents at the lottery." --Calvin (from "Calvin and Hobbes") Verse of the post: “...Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." --Jeremiah 31:3 Song of the post: "Island in the Sun" --Weezer By the way, if anyone has a suggestion for some good songs, let me know. I'm running out. Charity | 6:38 pm Comments-[ comments.]
Tuesday, November 01, 2005 ![]() Someday We'll Know... I have that song stuck in my head after listening to my "A Walk To Remember" soundtrack. (That is a great soundtrack, by the way!) It really has nothing other than that to do with the post. The picture is the one that was suppose to be up on the top of my blog. We were trying on stuff and taking pictures at the State Fair (untill the owners 'kicked' us out through their evil looks). Aren't we so cute!? ;-) This weekend was a BLAST! I always have so much fun when I see people from Lafayette! We were there at 2 and the church Fall Party (NOT a hayride!) started around 3. We helped the Held's and Humphrey's set up until it started. I got to help Kathryn do face painting. The choices were pretty simple drawings, but I am NOT an artist, so it was interesting. I would do one of the kid's faces and say "I'm really sorry, it doesn't look that great!" Of course, most of them didn't care at all. Kathryn made one of the choices cherries in my honor. She also had her 'trademark' - a smiley face. Both were very popular. I did this "great race" relay thing with Beth, David Held, and Orleana Faris. First we had to throw a horse shoe and ring it on a little post in the ground, then we had to bob for an apple (I PREDICTED THEY WOULD HAVE THAT!). Oh and little word of advice - don't go bobbing for apples when you have on face paint and/or eye makeup. After that, we had to eat an entire can of absolutely disgusting pumpkin junk (the stuff that looks so good in pies and tastes good MIXED WITH SUGAR!). I was definitely not hungry after that. The last thing was blindfolding someone and leading them (without touching them) over to these donuts tied to a string and hanging by a basketball net. The blindfolded person had to take two bites out of it and then we all had to run back to Micah. We ended up going through all that for nothing because we came in second place. It was fun anyway, though. There were a ton of more fun relays, but I won't discribe them all on here. There was also a square dance in the evening. It was so much fun! I was pretty bad at most of it, but at least I wasn't the only one. The announcer would say "are you all ready?" and I'd just reply "Uh, no!", but do it anyway. After cleaning up a bit, we gi'rls (Maria, Tamara, Kathryn, Flo, Beth, Anna H. and me) went to the Held's granparent's house. We ate some snacks and watched "Alex and Emma" (for those of you who were there - remember Ilva? Just like it sounds! Hahaha!). We slept in the living room with a zillion blankets and a very loud grandfather clock. That woke me up several times. Just think how it sounded when it rang 12 o'clock! Sunday after church, my family and I went to the Olivetti's for lunch. We had a great time there, and after cleaning up, we left. Beth insisted on reading aloud some of "The Fellowship of the Ring" until she got tired and we both fell asleep. I have one quote to add to this post, then I'm done. As my dad was backing out in the dark... Me: (directing) Okay, you're fine...alright STOP! Now you're good...keep going... Dad: Charity, I can see. I have my license, not just my permit. Verse of the post: "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken." --Isaiah 58:13-14 Song of the post: "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" --LeAnn Rimes Charity | 3:27 am Comments-[ comments.] |
