Tuesday, November 01, 2005 ![]() Someday We'll Know... I have that song stuck in my head after listening to my "A Walk To Remember" soundtrack. (That is a great soundtrack, by the way!) It really has nothing other than that to do with the post. The picture is the one that was suppose to be up on the top of my blog. We were trying on stuff and taking pictures at the State Fair (untill the owners 'kicked' us out through their evil looks). Aren't we so cute!? ;-) This weekend was a BLAST! I always have so much fun when I see people from Lafayette! We were there at 2 and the church Fall Party (NOT a hayride!) started around 3. We helped the Held's and Humphrey's set up until it started. I got to help Kathryn do face painting. The choices were pretty simple drawings, but I am NOT an artist, so it was interesting. I would do one of the kid's faces and say "I'm really sorry, it doesn't look that great!" Of course, most of them didn't care at all. Kathryn made one of the choices cherries in my honor. She also had her 'trademark' - a smiley face. Both were very popular. I did this "great race" relay thing with Beth, David Held, and Orleana Faris. First we had to throw a horse shoe and ring it on a little post in the ground, then we had to bob for an apple (I PREDICTED THEY WOULD HAVE THAT!). Oh and little word of advice - don't go bobbing for apples when you have on face paint and/or eye makeup. After that, we had to eat an entire can of absolutely disgusting pumpkin junk (the stuff that looks so good in pies and tastes good MIXED WITH SUGAR!). I was definitely not hungry after that. The last thing was blindfolding someone and leading them (without touching them) over to these donuts tied to a string and hanging by a basketball net. The blindfolded person had to take two bites out of it and then we all had to run back to Micah. We ended up going through all that for nothing because we came in second place. It was fun anyway, though. There were a ton of more fun relays, but I won't discribe them all on here. There was also a square dance in the evening. It was so much fun! I was pretty bad at most of it, but at least I wasn't the only one. The announcer would say "are you all ready?" and I'd just reply "Uh, no!", but do it anyway. After cleaning up a bit, we gi'rls (Maria, Tamara, Kathryn, Flo, Beth, Anna H. and me) went to the Held's granparent's house. We ate some snacks and watched "Alex and Emma" (for those of you who were there - remember Ilva? Just like it sounds! Hahaha!). We slept in the living room with a zillion blankets and a very loud grandfather clock. That woke me up several times. Just think how it sounded when it rang 12 o'clock! Sunday after church, my family and I went to the Olivetti's for lunch. We had a great time there, and after cleaning up, we left. Beth insisted on reading aloud some of "The Fellowship of the Ring" until she got tired and we both fell asleep. I have one quote to add to this post, then I'm done. As my dad was backing out in the dark... Me: (directing) Okay, you're fine...alright STOP! Now you're good...keep going... Dad: Charity, I can see. I have my license, not just my permit. Verse of the post: "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken." --Isaiah 58:13-14 Song of the post: "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" --LeAnn Rimes Charity | 3:27 am Comments-[ comments.] |
