About Me

My life is not my own, for I belong to Christ.

It is because of God's grace and for His glory that I "live and move and have my being."

I am currently back in Indiana, studying English Education at Purdue University, far from the home I've come to know and love in Victoria, Australia

My family means the world to me.

Living in America and loving in Australia, I am blessed indeed. Complete Profile

"In the clean pages of your Bible..."

We girls just got back from our fortnightly Young Adults Bible study. We're the only ones from Frankston RPC, and the rest of the group is made up of young people from various other churches in the area.

We just started studying the book of Amos. As my Dad likes to say, "It's in the clean pages of your Bible." I recently read through the Prophets, and it was wonderful to learn more of God's character through His dealings with His people. Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah aren't really the first places we Christians tend to go to for spiritual growth. But I am positive that God's Word is meant to be read in its entirety. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (1 Timothy 3:16-16)

I just thought I'd share some things God's been teaching me from this book, both in my own reading and in this group study.

      • Though God is amazingly patient and slow to anger, He is not willing or able to turn His back forever on sin, especially concerning His own people.
      • God often uses lowly people (such as Amos) for His special plan and purpose.
      • God is a covenant God; His people have a special relationship with Him which He takes very seriously.
      • God often gives many opportunities for His people to repent and return to Him.
      • The best way we can demonstrate our love for God is to follow His commands and to walk in His ways.
      • It's hard to stand out from the world, but God expects His people to follow His ways no matter what.
      • We need to be aware that the greatest attack on our churches can come from within.
      • Be constantly on your guard against sin; never think that you are beyond great wickedness and great judgement.
      • The most fearful thing for any person is to have the Lord remove them from His sight.

      "Seek the Lord and live."
