-->Sons of Korah M, T, and I were able to attend a Sons of Korah concert in Melbourne on Saturday night! For those of you who haven't heard of them, Sons of Korah is a band of Australian Christians who sing Psalms set to acoustical music. The band name is from the Biblical Sons of Korah who wrote some of the Psalms. We'd heard some of their CDs, but had never seen them in person, so this was a pretty exciting opportunity. When the concert was over, we girls hopped right up on stage and started talking to them. They were all really friendly, and we found out that they had recently been to Indiana! Also, we found out that we have a lot of mutual friends from the Geelong RP church. Here's what they sound like... -->Ken Smith It has been so wonderful having Pastor Smith around. He preached excellent sermons on Sunday: "The Relevance of Prayer" and "Christ's Glorious Church". He is encouraging and uplifting to be around, and he tells the greatest stories about experiences in his life and the lives of those with whom he's come into contact. He doesn't mind just sitting around and talking with us kids (when he's not on the go), and he warms us girls' hearts, calling us "my dear". Saturday is the Presbytery Day Conference at which he will be speaking, and I am really looking forward to his talks on discipleship. ![]() ![]() -->New Laborers A few months ago, Dad received an email from a family in Scotland. They had found our church's website, and, as they were planning to move to the Melbourne area, they were interested in meeting Dad. A couple weeks after his reply that we would love to meet them, they wrote saying they felt that God was calling them to move to Frankston and be part of our church ministry here! What an encouragement and answer to prayer! We've been excitedly keeping in touch ever since, and just this week Dad received another email saying that they--the Pattersons--would be arriving this Friday! We are positively over-joyed! After passing the news around to the church members, several people offered not only to go see them at the airport when they arrive but also to provide them with a car and a place to stay (while they house-hunt). Mr. Patterson emailed back after Dad told him this and said he was speechless--overwhelmed with the congregation's kindness and generosity. I know first-hand how wonderfully overwhemling the tangible love shown by the saints here can be, and I hope that we can help make the Pattersons arrival just as warm, welcoming, and wonderful.
