So this morning I woke up (at the wonderful hour of 8:37 am, I might add. Let's not discuss what time I went to sleep last night....) to the sound of Judy Rogers. I thought I was seven years old again. If only. ------------LATER I walked across the street behind our house to join Rosa's surprise 70th birthday party. It was just a nice little family gathering--reminded me of our own family gatherings past. I kind of just sat there smiling and nodding at the right times and occasionally adding to Tamara's constant chatter with everyone (I mean that in a good way) for the first 30 minutes or so, but then I got caught up in conversation with some of the people. I hope Tamara was proud, because I reminded myself of her. It was pretty amazing. But what was even more amazing was talking to one of the guys about being homeschooled (we all actually talked about that quite a bit throughout the evening). He made my week by saying that homeschooling sounded pretty sexy. I'm sorry, but that was incredible. I wanted to laugh for the rest of the night over the grandness of that statement. However, I controlled myself. Next Friday evening begins Family Camp at Dixon's Creek. I am looking forward to it like...a lot. Last year was great, but I think this year will be GRAND. I just wish events such as this happened more often. Sundays are by far the best part of my week. "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken." --Isaiah 58:13-14 song of the post ~ "Life is Wonderful" by Jason Mraz (I'm trying to be cheery in my song selection. Did I succeed??)
