I was privledged to get up at 5:00 A.M. and watch the Mini Marathoners. It was actually pretty fun. I almost didn't get to go because I was pretty sick on Friday. But I was miraculasly healed and able to go. Well...I was still a bit sick, but that's beside the point. ;-) I was able to see the very first person start and finish. It was amazing how fast some of those people went! We saw everyone start, but didn't stay for the 4 hours for them to finish. We did watch for about 3+ hours, though. I'm sure most of you already know this, but I wanted to post it anyways... TIMES (mostly of people I know): Kenya man - 1 hour, 2 minutes (At least that's what the clock said.) Zach Tranter (sp??) - 1 hour, 21 minutes (or somewhere around there) Nicholas Whitten - 1 hour, 24 minutes (It was so cool seeing him finish and then get interviewed on T.V!) Mary Ray - 1 hour, 56 minutes (And 12 seconds. GO MARY!!!) Dad - 2 hours, 41 minutes (That was speed walking.) I forget all the other people's times. I saw a lot of other people I knew including The Sturms, Charlie Moore, some of the Fishers, Mr. and Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Keddie, and people from Mrs. Whitten's track. Some of the SSRPers had T-shirts with 1 Timothy 4:8 printed on the back. Mary Ray wore hers to run in and said that some people told her they were encouraged by that verse. We both thought that was really neat. Maria and I ran this morning. It was really hot and not very fun...but I really want to try to do track this summer, so I need to really work at it. Although, I'm still not sure it's worth the money since I'm going to be gone 2 weeks for ECHO and another week for COVFAMIKOI. I'd appreciate prayers that I'd be dilligent in attempting to run every day! Have a great week, everyone!! Verse of the post~1 Timothy 4:8 "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
