You'll never guess what my truely wonderful friends did for me last Friday! *Drum roll please* THEY THREW A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR ME!!!!!! :-D How cool is that? I mean, my birthday was over a month ago! It was actually Mary Hovee's birthday present for me, but everyone pitched in to make it special. It was at the Mangan's house. Cathy just invited Maria and I out of the blue on Thursday is we could come spend the night. When I asked my mom (who knew ALL about it), she kept saying things like, "Why did they wait so long to invite you?" and "What are you guys going to do?" The funny part was, we first went to the wrong house! See, it was the Mangan's address, but the wrong street name! (Minor detail there. ;-)) We walked up to the door and knocked. I looked inside and said, "This isn't their house! Maybe they moved or something..." then we heard a voice behind us saying, "Maria, Charity?" It was Cathy running up the sidewalk! We had a good laugh about us being at the wrong door as we walked to the Mangan's REAL house. I opened the door expecting to see her family and I saw them all right. But, I also saw Mary Ray, Mary Hovee, Grace, Michelle, Liz, Beth, and Ellen! They had the place decorated and everything! I was so incredible surprised!! I seriously had absolutely no idea whatsoever that they had planned this! But I knew Mary Hovee had been talking to everyone on the planet (it seemed like) except ME about it! I felt left out a few times, but it was definitely worth every minute of it. After we got there, Cathy's aunt (who didn't even know me!) ordered and paid for about 8 pizza's for us! So, we ate while watching the storm/hail outside. It was scary because it was tornado weather--really stormy, then super calm...then hail and the sky turning a strange color. But, the storm calmed a bit and we got to go see a movie at the $$ theater. Some of us (Cathy and I were BY FAR the most extravagant) dressed up as earth people/hippees. We wore long, flowered skirts, lose shirts, lots of jewlery, weird sunglasses, and our hair down with beads on top of our heads. We definitely got some strange looks...but it was super fun. We saw the movie "Cursed". I would definitely NOT recommend it. It was supposed to be a scary movie about a warewolf. Well, it WAS pretty scary at the beginning (you should have heard me scream..I think everyone in the theater did! We got some lovely comments from the ladies behind us, too), but when they actually showed the incredibly FAKE looking "warewolf", we (well, most of us) got over our fears and spent most of the end laughing at the film. It was a bit foul, too...so definitely not a quality movie. After the movie ended, we went outside to wait for Mrs. Mangan. One of the guys working there reminded us to use our "baby voices" as some of the other movies were starting. Needless to say, we got a pretty big kick out of that. ;-) When we got back to the Mangan's, we ate ice cream and cake (I blew out candles). The Mangan's aunt provided the ice cream, also--in 8 different flavors!! We got our PJs on, talked for a while, ate Salsa Doritoes (YUM!), and then settled down a bit to watch "She's All That". It was a pretty cute movie, but also kind foul and unrealistic. But hey, it was a chick flick and we all enjoyed it (except for possibly Ellen...haha.) We talked and ate some more after that....laughed a whole lot and shared a bunch of secrets which were to stay in the room or else I'd share. ;-) (Not really...I'm more trustworthy that that, people!) Saturday, we went to visit my cousin, Emily Cole, who was in the hospital earlier. She's doing pretty well--finally home!! For those of you who didn't know about her, go here. After a short visit, we went to Elkhart. It was SNOWING there, which didn't make me all that happy...but that's alright. I'll remember not to wear flipflops next time! :-P That evening, we went to Lafayette RP. One last thing, I HOPE YOU ALL ARE COMING TO OUR PLAY!!! The official dates are this Thursday and Friday (April 28th and 29th). But you are also welcome to come to the *open* dress rehersal tomorrow night. Tomorrow night is at 6:00 PM, but the other two are at 7:00 PM. There has been a whole lot of hard work put into this play, so I really hope a lot of people will be able to come!
