Hey everyone! I'm back once again! I thought I'd better update before I decide its too late with Christmas and Winter Conference coming up fast! ;-) Three days till Christmas and 6 days till Winter Conference, actually! Oh my goodness...so soon! And I can't wait! Also, there is beautiful snow on the ground outside, which I haven't taken the time to enjoy yet. :'( I know! Who wants to go sledding tomorrow? pick me pick me!!! Hehe. Seriously, if anyone wants to go (who lives near enough ;-)) then I say we designate a driver and do it! Oh I promised I'd write my opinion about the quote, so I better do that. Also, for some odd unknown reason, my computer won't let me see comments from anyone's blog! It annoys me greatly, but oh well I'll live. Now...for my thoughts that I'm sure you're all just DYING to read! haha here goes nothing -- Do you agree with the following quote: "The world is not going to get better and better. The Christian's hope is not in the gradual betterment of the world, but that Christ is coming back again." --Dr. Francis Schaeffer I agree with a bit of this, but disagree with most of it. The only part I agree with is that Christians do hope in the return of Christ, and that He is coming back again. I do not believe, however, that the world is only going to get worse. I will state my reasons why. First of all, before Christ accended into Heaven, He told His disciples, therefore telling us, to go into all the world and preach the gospel. If He didn't think we could accomplish this, than why would He say it? Also, Dr. Schaeffer's comment seems to "urge" Christians to just sit back and do nothing but hope and wait for Christ's return. I know that Christ does NOT want us to 'sit back and wait'. Although we are to hope, we are commanded to do things for His glory and to help bring more to His Kingdom in preparing for His return. Dr. Schaeffer may have been a wise man, but I do not think this was one of his wisest statements. Ok well that's what I wrote for an essay for my mom (for school). It may not be great, and I'm sure I could add to it and perfect it a lot more, but I don't have the time right now. But I must say a couple more things before ending this post. Sunday night, my brothers got the crazy idea to have Mary and Luke Hovee spend the night (haha noo that wasn't the crazy idea...although...noo j/k). Anyways, their crazy idea was to get up at 4:45 AM and go shopping!! Why so early!? Because we had World Views at 9:15 a.m. So I set my alarm, Mary and I talked for quite a while, and when I woke up at 4:45 I heard a few steps above my head (my brother's rooms) and decided that there was no way I was getting up and they prolly wouldn't either...so I layed there for a while thinking that they would come wake us up eventually. An hour later, Allen came in and told us it was time to get up if we wanted to go. So we dragged ourselves out of bed, got dressed, and ventured out into the cold morning - the sun not even up yet! I must admit, our trip to Micky D's and then K-Mart was quite fun and adventurous. There were like 10 people in the whole store! And the MacDonalds guy got a little annoyed with us, I think considering we kept changing our order - three cinnimon rolls...no wait two...no make that three...orr...yeah I guess three. Hehe. Goodwill and Deals and almost every other store didn't open till 8 or 9 so we went home, picked up a snack, our WV stuff, and Maria, and headed to those two stores. At 8:54 Mary, Maria, and I all rushed into an empty (except for one worker) Goodwill. We were stopped by the lady, who told us we still had 6 minutes!! So we shopped for a little bit...I just have to share that I got a shirt for $1 and a skirt for $ 1.75. And they were both from Charlotte Ruse (sp?)!! That excited me. So we were, of course as usual, late for WV. This time, Mrs. Ray wasn't very happy. In fact, she made a new rule that every time someone was late, the driver, or whoever's fault it was, had to write a 200 word essay on punctuality. Poor Allen had to be the first to suffer. So leaving for this Monday's session should be very interesting! Hoh boy, that was long...I think I'm having too much fun here! ;-) One last thing - we saw "The Series of Unfortunate Events" Monday night and I highly recomend it! Especially if you've read the books! And..ok more than one thing...this morning my dad came in my room at like 7 or 8 and threw a snowball at me! I was NOT a happy camper! Oh and I had my Christmas party last night. There were more gi'rls than I sorta expected (don't get me wrong I was really happy!). I think there were 21 people including Maria and I. We played games and had a "White elephant" type thing. At the end, instead of playing "Round Robin" we all went outside (everyone was really hyper and we needed to get some energy out, I guess!) and we played "blo'ody mur'der". I had fun scaring people, and they returned the favor! Hehe. Well, I had a great time and I hope everyone who was able to come did, too! Hopefully I'll see most of you at Winter Conference! Think this post can hold you all till then? I sure hope so cuz I may not update till I get back! And I know MOST OF YOU prolly just skimmed this because it's so long, and that's alright...but if you did, I want no complaints about me not posting! :-P Get it? Got it? Good. ;-) Song of the post~Scientist by Coldplay Charity | 9:13 am Comments-[ comments.]

I chose this picture not because I think it's a good one of me (I don't), but because I think Anna looks really pretty (She's gonna have something to say about that hehehe) and because I wanted to change my picture on here. And plus, the one she suggested might not, heh, exactly work. Oh and I chose the song because I love it so much! I know I had it on here before, but I wanted to put it on once again. I was going to put a different song on here, but Allen stole it first. The extra sounds on here are because it was taken from the music video. Let's see...what has happened in my life lately. Well, I guess I could begin with today. Speech is finally over for the year and so I only had Biology. And much to my happiness, I think I actually did well on the test today! Also, Ellie brought the heart, brain, and liver of a deer into class. I must admit, that didn't exactly thrill me like it did several others in my class! Blech...no thank you. After class Mary, Luke, Maria, Cathy, and I all had to stay because Cindy had Mr. Pulliam's writing class. We had a lot of fun, though! Haha...especially with Mary's cell! Ask and one of us will tell you about it. The writing class got PIZZA afterwards and they would not share a single slice with us poor children! (Meaning the 5 above! ) So we have decided that next time we will bring something of our own and return the "favor"! Mwuhahaha...we're so evil. Haha just kidding. Not us lil angels! OWhat else to write about...oh yeah on the way home from classes Mary, Cathy, and I all took some purty funny pictures of ourselves and other people. I'll have to try to put some of them on here soon!! Tuesday I am having a Christmas party for some of my friends. I am really excited! It is kind of my Christmas present to them. I hope they will like it!! Tomorrow...well I can't tell you what some of my friends and I are doing tomorrow because until Winter Conference, I am sworn to secrecy! Unless I already told some of you...also Mary Ray and I are going Christmas shopping with Maria and my mom. That is much needed and will be extremely fun, I'm sure! Alrighty, well I think this is long enough - no matter how uneventful. Oh wait!! There is something I have been wanting to post on here and if I don't do it now, who knows when it will happen! It has to do with our World Views class. (Which is very fun, by the way! I LOVE it!) Here, I'll post two quotes. One from our book, and one from one of the people taking the class: First of all, do you agree with this statement? I will write my answer on a later post because I don't want to influence you in your thinking! "The world is not going to get better and better. The Christian's hope is not n the gradual betterment of the world, but that Christ is coming back again." --Dr. Francis Schaeffer And here is the second quote which I just thought was funny (I had people sign my folder for World views, and this is what someone said...some of you may think it's funny, too!): "Wasn't this fun? World Views - I can't think of anything more exciting! I hope you learned as much as I did. Or maybe I hope I learned as much as you. Either way, it is fun to watch so many people yell at once." --Luke Hovee Song of the post~The Reason by Hoobastank Charity | 10:06 am Comments-[ comments.]

A man dies and goes to Heaven. He gets to meet GOD and asks GOD if he can ask him a few questions. "Sure," GOD says, "Go right ahead". "OK," the man says. "Why did you make women so pretty?" GOD says, "So you would like them." "OK," the guy says. "But how come you made them so beautiful?" "So you would LOVE them", GOD replies. The man ponders a moment and then asks, "But why did you make them such airheads?" GOD says, "So they would love you! All in favor?? Charity | 10:16 am Comments-[ comments.]
Also, check out Katie's blog and read about the great sermon we had on Sunday! I was going to post about it, but hey, she covered it! ;-) Sorry about lack of posting...little time and screwed up computer!! I'll try to get more on here soon! Please take my quiz and see what you think! :-D Song of the post~Star Wars - Walkers in a Winter Wonderland by Steven Cavanaugh (I wanted the original, but this was too funny to pass up!) (Don't worry, I won't forget to have the government class sing tonight!) Well, my mom is going to Chicago this afternoon even though she hasn't had an MRI yet. She said it might take a week or so before she could get one, and I guess she didn't want to miss this shopping trip. Well neither would I! That's my mommy forya. ;-) We got out our Christmas decorations yesterday, excluding our Christmas tree which has mysteriously ended up in the Southside church garage...someone please explain that to me? Well, I absolutely LOVE Christmas time! Would anyone agree with me on that? :-) The music, the cookies, the gifts, the being with family, the shopping...*sigh* it's so wonderful. Of course, the best thing is remembering WHY we celebrate Christmas. If any of you are a little confused on that part, I can set you straight - hello, Santa and presents!! Haha, juuust playing. You all know the reason is to celebrate Christ's birth! And that is NOT a small thing! Hmm...what else to say...well I got woken up this morning by the wonderful sound of Switchfoot's "Meant to Live" blasting (and I mean blasting) from our stereo! It was a little more pleasent than being woken up by my siblings screaming, I suppose. Also, we have 2 mice down and who knows how many more to go! The one in the trap last night was still moving as my dad chased me in my room with it!! :-P Ooohhh yes! I have an ingenius idea! It's kinda dumb...but I like it anyways. Ok, I want to do something soooort of like what Nathan did with the story thing, except...well, different. ;-) I want to do it with jokes. I'll start with a corny joke, and when you comment, tell a joke, as well. They don't have to be related or anything...I just thought it'd be kind of fun. And then we'll vote on which joke was the best or something. They can be super corny like "What did the Atlantic ocean say to the Pacific ocean?........nothing! They just waved!" (haha, I love that one) or it can be a funny one liiiike (thinking here) well how about the one on Mary's blog. It's hilarious! Not exactly a joke with a punch line..but still. Oh and I will permit blon'de jokes, as well. ;-) Just make sure they're clean and not offensive. Also...if you think of it, pray that I would have dilligence this week because I have a lot of school which I probably should have done last week, but because of Thanksgiving, I didn't. I did finish my World View outline last night, so Mrs. Ray should be happy! At least I hope she is...oh and I got at least a rough draft of my mission's speech! But I have a government test tomorrow, a biology test on Thursday, and I have yet to 'catch up' in Algebra. Thanks so much! Glorify Him in all you do! Oh and, since some people don't seem to like my current song, I'll try to change it soon...but I love it!! :-D Charity | 12:16 am Comments-[ comments.] |
