Elections are tomorrow! Remember everyone, if you aren't going to vote Bush...don't bother to vote at all! Noo I'm just kidding. I'm sure I didn't offend anyone who reads my blog though. :-P The Ray's are having an election party for people in our church. They did it four years ago, too. I remember we had to leave kind of early and stuff. But we had a ton of fun, as I'm sure we will this year. :-) They were going to put on their invatations, "Kerry supporters are welcome, but must remain silent." Haha, I thought that was funny! And they are going to be playing "Flipper" (the movie) and, by my request, have dolphin-shapped goldfish! For those of you who didn't catch WHY they are doing that...Kerry is a flipper!!! Ok, well I'm not really in to politics but who is NOT right now? So I'm going to stop talking about things I really don't know much about. Ok? Ok. Rambling... I feel like rambling right now, but I really don't have the time. I just 'vented' to two of my friends about anything and everything. They're prolly a little annoyed with me right now, but I am so frustrated with myself and with...life. And school...and people. But I have to keep reminding myself that God is in control and everything will work out! It's just so hard to focus on that promise when everything seems to be going bazerk! (Don't think that's a word...and if it is, I definitely spelled it wrong!) Not exactly wrong...but not exactly right. Haha, I know this is making no sense whatsoever, but hey, at least I'm updating, right? Ok, well for not having much time to ramble, I think I did a pretty good job! I just hope you all had a better day than I did. Halloween What does everyone think about Halloween? Just a general opinion...and just out of curiosity of other people's beliefs. I don't think it is a holiday worth celebrating. At least the way our culture celebrates it. I think it is full of evil ideas and not just all candy and dressing up. It is putting thoughts into little kids minds, and I think the candy is just sort of disguising the real meaning and purpose of the day. I don't know a whole lot about the history of it, but I'm pretty sure there were some horrible things done. Our church, as I know many other's do, has a Halloween alternative called Fall Fun Night. Our youth group organizes games and things for the younger kids in our church. Speaking of which...I REALLY need to get some stuff done for that! (it's this Friday since Halloween was on a Sunday this year.) Such as, buying candy, getting my costume, and making the poster for our booth! And I should prolly talk to my booth partner, as well! :-) We're doing a Princess theme (not my idea...but oh well) with a "Needle in a Haystack" game. (The kids will find candy) Verse of the Day: "Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are -- yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." ~Hebrews 4:14-16~ (And a minute ago I was complaining about my "hard" life....I feel really dumb.) Song of the Day: "Only Hope" ~Switchfoot~ (I couldn't Mandy Moore, but I love switchfoot anyways) Quote of the Day: "Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you're beyond the need of God's grace." ~Unknown~ (wow...this is good stuff! :)) Charity | 2:02 pm Comments-[ comments.] |
