Yes, folks, this IS my nine-hundred-and-seventy-third post! And I know I haven't updated much of anything in the past couple months and I've probably lost all of my dedicated fans, but I've decided to write a little something before life TRULY gets crazy. The International Conference was positively, spectacularly AMAZING! I can't even begin to summarize all the wonderful things which took place during that week. Rut Ethridge, the speaker to the highschoolers, challenged us with some very excellent talks. My counseling group, led by Stacie Shopp (missionary to Russia for 16 years, now heading to Greece soon), was so encouraging and just a delight to be a part of. The fellowship was a blessing, the entertainment hilarious and exciting, and the general activities heaps of fun. Whether you've ever been or not, I would greatly encourage you to plan for the next conference in 2012. That means you have four whole years to plan and save. It will be worth it! Since Calvin, I've been in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and, of course, good old Indiana. This week, Maria and I have been staying in Sara, Jessica and Eleni's apartment, right by Allen and Zachary. We've been spending the days touring campus and the evenings hanging out with CORPS people. I am beginning to find my way around just a bit. I'm not failing to be an obvious nose-in-a-map freshman, and my campus map is beginning to wear out a bit already! My classes are scheduled, and I've found most of the buildings where they will be. Classes start on Monday, so I'm starting to get a little nervous about getting everything organized before then. I am trusting in God's faithfulness, though. "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Psalm 118:6) There are a few things I would really appreciate prayer for: * I need a job, and there is a possibility that I could work with Eleni in the financial aid office on campus. Could you pray that God might provide this job, or another, for me? * I've been okay with my family leaving so far. Part of that, I'm sure, is due to the fact that I've been with Allen, Zachary, and Maria all of the time. It will be harder once Maria and Allen leave, so please pray that God would strengthen and encourage me. * Could you also please pray that I wouldn't have a hard time getting around and finding all my classes next week? Have a mentioned it's a BIG campus? * Please just pray for all the many adjustments I am in the midst of. Thank you! Charity | 12:26 am Comments-[ comments.] |
