As I've told a lot of you already, my parents are going to Geneva this weekend (actually, they just left) for Ken Smith's installation...I think. Anyways, since they're going to be gone, they are "shippin' us kids off". Benjamin went camping with the Sturms, Maria, Tamara and I are going to the Rays, and Allen and Zachary are staying home (they have to work). Soo this should be very interesting! We might get to go to the Northside hayride tomorrow night with the Rays, so I'm prepared for another fun-filled night of bonfires, coats, hats, gloves, hay, and sneezing. I can hardly wait. ;-) Love 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says, "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Today I was reminded of what true love really is. I'm so selfish all the time. I am always thinking of what I want rather than what God would want. I tell my friends and family that I love them, but reading this: do I really show them true love? My parents love me enough to do what is best for me. Even though I may not see all things exactly how they see them, I know that they are just looking out for me and my best intrests. My friends love me enough to listen to all my problems, no matter how stupid they might seem. And my family loves me enough to tease me a TON! :-P But I know they still love me and I love them. So people out there who I have mentioned, if I haven't told you lately I LOVE YOU!!! And never forget, no matter what, God will always love you - enough that He sent His only Son (John 3:16) to take away YOUR sins! School A little preview of what I've been doing in school...(not that you're really interested! hehe) Algebra - Still not my favorite subject...but hey, I gotta do it so I might as well have a good attitude about it! Speech - I'm actually doing really well in that class! Probably because I love writing, and that's half the work. Now getting up there...that's a different story... Biology - *sigh* Let's not talk about this class, ok? Economics/Government - We finally started that last week! The classes are at our house and the following people are in it: Mary, Rebekah and Joe Ray, Ellen and Joel Edwards, Mary and Luke Hovee, Allen, Zachary, Maria, and I. Mr. Elder is our teacher and we always have a ton of fun! (BTW, did you guys know that in Fairland, Mr. Elder doesn't have to pay tax on things because he has so many kids??) I love listening to Mr. Elder teach, he's so funny! And the things we're learning are really interesting, too! World Views - We start that on Tuesday! Same day as the election! Hope you're all going to the Ray's to watch and celebrate Bush winning! ;-D (The same thing we did 4 years ago!) Anyways, I think this is going to be a really interesting class and I can't wait for it to start! (Except for the fact that it means more work...) My Brother... Go to Zachary's new and improved site! It's so funny, even if he's totally dissing us bloggers! Verses of the Day: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!" ~Psalm 139:13-17~ Song of the Day: "Why Does the Sun Shine" ~They Might Be Giants~ (yeah I guess I sorta stole this from Allen, but it's so hilarious and I can't think of any other good songs right now!) Quote of the Day: "A true friend is one who knows all about you and likes you anyway." ~Christi Mary Warner~ (Haha, I thought this was hilarious!!) Charity | 12:30 am Comments-[ comments.]

I think bloggers are starting to slack off. A lot of us have had our blogs for a year or more and with school, it's hard to update regularly. So everyone, just forgive the bloggers for their lack of committment right now! I still visit people's blogs and if they don't update...I move on! So should you...rembering to come back, of course! :-) Fall Ministry I loved FMP soo much! It was a blast! Not only did I get to know a lot of people better and have a ton of fun on the car ride and working there, I also got to meet Stevie Soma. But I was soo incredibly exhausted this morning! My nap this afternoon helped immensely! Ahh I love sleep!!! Ok well anyways...this is what I did: We went to an older lady in the church's house and first we raked and bagged her leaves. Then I picked up a bunch of trash behind her house (a racoon or something must've gotten in it...it was pretty nas.ty!) After that the lady gave us a snack (it was like a 2nd breakfast! I'm sure I gained a ton while I was there! ;-)) then the guys did some work inside on bathrooms, closets, and a bunch of other stuff, while we gi.rls stayed outside and slaved away on rebuilding some brick steps. I now officially ha.te bricks!! >:-( And after that...Alyssa Magnesun (sp??) and I tried to find something to do, but couldn't find anything that people needed more help on and neither could the s! So, one lady took us to the Southfield church where we raked leaves(until we got the leaf blower which was a total life saver, even if it did ki.ll your arm!) and weeded in the rain while the guys who were there bagged this huge pile of sticks and leaves. Oh and Ellen and I got to wash tables and clean highchairs! That. Was. Gross. We went back to the house and picked up a few more people. Then we all (finally the guys helped us after I practically yelled at them to..I was really surprised that they listened, too!) washed nursery toys in the kitchen! And Ellie and I "cleaned the floor" by having a little water fight. But hey, we mopped it up so it was all good. :-D On the car ride, we talked, did mad libs, and sang a bunch of Psalms. And Ellie, Ellen, and I all died our eyebrows blue! (some people were kinda ticked at us for that...) We did a ton of other stuff, but it would take way too long to tell you everything...soo I guess I'll leave you with this. Oh and LOOK AT THE PICTURES HERE!!! The Joys Of Schoolwork We just started a new Economics/Government class with Mr. Elder as our teacher on Wednesday. It is at our house and the people in it are, Allen, Zachary, Maria and I , Mary and Luke Hovee, and Mary, Joe, and Rebekah Ray. The class was pretty interesting and I think it will be fun to be in a class with those people. We are starting our World Views class (THE BOOKS FINALLY CAME!!!) this week and our first class is next Tuesday. So I'll have a nice little line up of classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please pray for me because all of this is going to be pretty hard to accomplish alltogether. But as my mom says...welcome to highschool! Verse of the Day: "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God." ~1 Corinthians 10:31~ Song of the Day: "Wittnessmark" ~Scott Porter~ I want you all to know that I think this is an amazing song written by a guy I know! We stayed at the Porter's house in Michigan. At my request, he played and sang some songs for us. Ellie and I only knew "I'm better than this, I'm better than this, I know I know...etc" and we would sing it over and over on the way home. We got yelled at and hit by many people on our trip! Oh, ok ok Allen gave it to me when I asked...but he took his nice time before giving me the address to it! I hope you're listening to this, Ellie!!! :-) Quote of the Day: "You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can't forget. Those are your friends." ~Anonymous~ Charity | 9:01 am Comments-[ comments.]

OH MY WORD!!!!!! I know three gi.rls who are going to be in EVER SO MUCH TROUBLE WHEN I NEXT SEE THEM!!!!!!!! (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!) This title definitely deserves to be in HUGE font, bolded, and italicized! Ok, ok, let me explain to you all who were totally lost even before I began. Three of my dear friends decided to play a little practical joke on me. (For whatever reason remains a mystery!) So, they send me email after email of one word, one sentence, or even the lyrics to an ENTIRE song! What were you trying to do??? Give me a heart attack?? My eyes were swimming in my brain as I saw email after email pop up. I thought I was dreaming or something so I exited my inbox. I carefully made it come up again, and sure enough, I WAS awake! There were 96 emails in my inbox!!! They were all mixed up, as the three gi.rls each sent their own email one at a time. And they did this from 7:26 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. I really hope you all didn't type out those lyrics!! Actually, I hope you DID! I hope you have such a huge cramp in your hand that you can't type, write, or hold anything for the rest of your life! I hope your mom MAKES you do your school, despite your pleas and cries! I hope...ok ok. I'm not really mad. Actually, I'm laughing quite hard at the moment. Sure, I was bewildered at the site of the first 70 emails, but after that, I sort of chuckeled to myself. So now, I have a total of 4 friends (Anna Jane, don't think you're off the hook!!!) to MAJORLY get back for their horrible cruelty to such a loyal friend - ME!!! Save Me!!! *bbbiiigggg sigh* I really need to do more school. The only reason I updated was because of that 'delightful' end to my evening. I had choir practice earlier and here was something funny that happened: [The tenors and basses sang their part alone while the rest of us listened.] Mrs. Burriss (when they had finished): Good job! That was really lovely (or something to that extent...) My Mom: Yes, that was beautiful! (now how guys can be beautiful is unknown to me...hehe just kidding.) I think they should sing a verse by themselves on Sunday! Mr. Burriss (a tenor *points to the door*): Out the door YOU go! [Everyone laughing] [We start singing again] Mr. Burriss: Ok, Nancy, I guess you can stay. Then Mr. Sturm said something else that made us laugh...but it would take too long to explain and I have things to do. So to all, goodnight, pleasent dreams and God bless! Oh One More Thing I CANNOT WAIT TILL FMP!!! :D Alright, that's all. Verse of the Day: "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven." ~Matthew 10:32-33~ (Powerful verse, there!) Song of the Day: "Dare You To Move" ~Switchfoot~ (One of the MANY sent by my "dear friends") Quote of the Day: "The language of friendship is not words but meanings." ~Henry David Thoreau ~ (And, of course, the meanings of all those emails was to annoy me! And no, I'm not going to EVER let you forget that! You'll laugh now...but just you wait. mwuahahahah!!! Hehe, I'm just kidding. I'm glad you love me enough to sacrifice an hour and 45 minutes just to bug me. I love you guys, even if you do irritate me sometimes. :D) Charity | 1:15 pm Comments-[ comments.]

Go to this site for a sad story about the dangers of driving. Another Weekend!!! Today I have to finish some school. School on a Saturday really stinks. But it makes me have less next week! :) And tonight I get to go to a hayride for youth group, so that should be lots of fun! But it's gona be cooolllddd stuff! So I plan to dress nice and warm. And sneeze a lot. Hehe, I'm allergic to hay. But I guess it's gona be straw, so that might work. My mom says it's the dust on it or something, but oh well. I plan to have a blast anyways. Actually, people from Elkhart are coming for the hayride and then Allen, Zachary, and I are riding back with them to Elkhart to spend the night. Tomorrow my dad is preaching there, so we won't be home all day. Sorry to all of you who will miss me dearly at church! ;) Verses of the Day: "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." ~Colossians 3:12-17~ Quote of the Day: "When you're in school, you tend to develop a serious relationship with Friday." ~Anna Pulliam~ Song of the Day: "Clocks" ~Coldplay~ Charity | 1:45 am Comments-[ comments.]

I was in a strange mood today. I got out my country CD's and listened to all the sappy love songs and such while I was doing my math. You know why I liked country so much for so long? (Hey, I still like it...I just don't listen to it exclussively) Well, almost every song has a story in it. Either that or a lesson to teach you. I know you're all sitting there rolling your eyes at me, but that's alright. ;) I was also in a very Christmasy mood. I got out one of my Christmas CD's out and listened to it while doing my Biology! Which I don't have this Thursday!!!!!!! I'm soooo glad! I think we have to take our test at home, but that's alright with me! As long as it's not tomorrow! And we're just going to have extra class time for speech next week. So anyways, I'm pretty excited about that. Challenge I had this thought after listening to Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying". Do you live each day to it's fullest? What if all of the sudden you found out you wouldn't be livnig much longer. Would you change your life? Or would you not have to because you know that what you are doing is exactly what God would want you to do with your life. So, make the most of your life. Don't sit there complaining about what you don't have. Be thankful for what you do have! When you love someone, let them know - not only through words, but also through actions. Live each day as if you won't see tomorrow. And most of all, seek God in all you do. Funny Answering Machine Messages... "Hi, we aren't in at the moment, if you are trying to sell us something please start speaking now and hang up at the beep, everyone else start speaking at the beep and hang up when you've finished. Please leave a message and I will call you up as soon as I find it. (This is soo true! We should have this for our answering machine! :)) Hello. Hi, you have reached _(phone number)__ you have a chance to win one million dollars if you can answer the following 1. What is your name? 2. What is your phone number? 3. Why did you call this number? Hi, you know the drill. Hi. Do you ever feel, like, your head is full of sand, not your regular loose sand mind you, but compacted sand, and there were like, I dunno, bugs or something jumping up and down on the compacted sand? Well, sometimes I do. Bye. Hi. If you are a burglar, checking to see if anyone is home, then we're probably at home cleaning our weapons right now and can't come to the phone. Otherwise, we probably aren't at home and it's safe to leave us a message. Hi. Now you say something. How do you keep an idiot in suspense? Leave a message and I'll get back to you... How do you leave a message on this thing? I can't understand the instructions. Hello. Testing 1 2 3. I wonder what happens if I touch this... YOW! I can't come to the phone now because alien beings are eating my brain. Leave a message anyway, and after the alien beings assume my shape, one of them will get back to you. I can't come to the phone now because I have amnesia and I feel stupid talking to people I don't remember. I'd appreciate it if you could help me out by leaving my name and telling me something about myself. Thanks. I know you're out there. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don’t know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end, I came here to tell you how it’s going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don’t want them to see. I'm going to show them a world, without you. A world without rules and controls. Without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there, is a choice I leave to you I’m sorry, I’ve been trying to break the record for "the most calls missed" if its a emergency or your dieing or something, please hold on till the record is broken. And I will call you back.If this were the best of all possible worlds, I could come to the phone right now, but I can't, so if you could leave your name and number... (Zachary has this on his cell phone) If you are hearing this tape, then I'm not here now. Please leave your name, number, D.O.B, address, social security number, age, height, weight, how many children you have, what you are, your mother’s maiden name, and the date and time when you called me. If you are still listening, then whatever you have to say must be very important. Please leave a message after the beep. I'm gone. I'm writing the definitive work on pain. I would like you to tell me how this machine makes you feel. Remember, be honest. This is for posterity. Leave a message or I'll send 30,000 volts through your phone. I am an electrical engineer. I can do that. Let the machine get it. Like, wait...This is so confusing. Me no here. Me go bye. Leave me message. Me reply. (Say that fast out loud) Prepare for alpha test of Beep Software revision 2.05. Counting down to test: 5...4...3...2...1... Suicide Hotline...please hold. Okay, Some of these are REALLYY dumb, but some of them are pretty funny. :) Verses of the Day: "When the clouds are full of rain, they pour out water on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the north or the south, in the place where it falls, there it lies." ~Ecclesiastes 11:3~ (Profound, huh?) "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. I had this whole long post written out yesterday, and what do you know? One of my loving siblings logged off my account and lost my entire post! *sigh* Oh well. I suppose I will just start over. Forgive and forget...if only I knew which one it was!!! Just kidding. :) The Wonders of the Weekend I love weekends! It's so great to be able to take some time off from school and everything and just rest! At least, that's what I did on Sunday. As for Saturday...oh man. I got 5 hours of sleep and spent the day walking around everywhere and just being weird. Oh and on Friday night we (the "corn detasseling people") went to see Spiderman 2 at the dollar theater. We dressed up all weird and when we walked in (late, of course) and sat down, the WHOLE row behind us got up and moved somewhere else! Goes to show you how scary we are! ;) After only haveing 5 hours of sleep, we had our extreme exhaustion streaks and our extreme hyper streaks. It was pretty fun, though. Oh and it was Ninah's birthday on Friday (she got a cake from me that said "To: Ninah, have a corney birthday, Love: Mr. Bob - inside joke) and it was Joe's birthday on Saturday! Trouble Updating I think Allen is rubing off of me. Although, be proud, he DID update today! See, I've been having troubles updating very often. It's just school and spending too much time doing other things. I know that overall I spend WAY too much time on the computer. But I LOVE my blog, so I'm not going to just quit it altogether, but I may just update like once or twice a week. I like the long posts better than the little short ones I used to do, but it takes SOO much longer! And I feel like they're really boring. But I guess that's alright. Oh, and I also always forget the stuff I want to post on my blog!! Ok, I'm not sure why I'm telling all you this, I don't think you really care very much. ;) Song of the Day: "My Front Porch Looking In" ~Lonestar~ (I couldn't get "I'm Already There"! But this one's ok. I sang this with Beth, Mary, Grace, and Maria on Grace's front porch! Gracie, I miss singing country on top of your picnic table!! :)) Verse of the Day: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30~ Quote of the Day: "I get the best feeling in the world when you say hi or even smile at me because I know, even if its just for a second, that I've crossed your mind." ~Unknown~ (I got this from Becca's blog.) Well, today was Thursday. Which means fun fun classes! Ok, I love all of classes...except for the actual learning part. I love seeing people and talking to them and being with them. Other than that...ok ok I'm not really being fair. I do have great teachers. And the amazing thing is they (I think) teach for free! Now that's truely a Christian attitude! And I love being homeschooled. So I should be complaining. I refused to look at my Biology test until I got home, today. Well, I got home, I ate a muffin, and I finally looked at it. And I am most certianly NOT sharing my grade! Hehe. :) I did a TINY bit better than the first test...but then, that's not saying much. Anyways, speech was alright. I was more nervous than I have EVER been for that class! But I did ok on my speech, I guess. It was informative about the history of the telephone. (Alexander Graham Bell - my hero!) There were some really interesting topics from others, though. I love you, Tomorrow! Tomorrow is going to be fun. I am (probably) going to the Mangan's for a corn-detasseling party. Ok, I know that sounds corny (haha), but, of course, the point is just to get together with certian people. And those ceritan people just happen to have done corn detasseling! Now that I think back on it, it was pretty fun! Call me crazy, but I almost can't wait till next year! Ok, so it wasn't much fun actually DOING the work, but when I was with friends (which was the whole time!), it was a great time! We sang, we laughed, we met Mr. Bob...*sigh* it was great. ;) But, believe me, if our RPers hadn't been so well represented there, I would have never stayed there longer than a day! Back to the party - we want to just hang out and we might go to the mall and be weird. That shouldn't be a challenge! ;) Poll I thought of this while eating a package of those mini muffins. :) I would say either Blueberry or Lemon Poppy Seed. Yuuummm!!! Verse of the Day: For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. ~Jeremiah 29:11-13~ Song of the Day: "Concrete Angels" ~Martina McBride~ (I love the piano on this!) Quote of the Day: "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." ~Albert Einstein~ Charity | 5:13 am Comments-[ comments.]

My poor little brother has now entered the blogger world. As I said on Nathan's blog, I'm not sure we should be encouraging this, but just because I am just about the nicest sister anyone could ever hope for or dream of having, I will link him. So, everyone should try to follow my example of about perfect sisterly love and go comment on Benji's Blog. Motherless with M&M's As those of you who have had the privledge of coming to the imfamous Blackwood house know, almost every Saturday we have the best pancakes in the whole wide world! Equipped with peanut butter, syrup, and chocolate chips!!! (Healthy, huh? ;)) Anyways, my mom was at the Women's Retreat this weekend and left the house when our supply of chocolate chips was completely out!!! This is the SECOND time she has done that! So we had to resort to our only other option: M&M's. Benjamin and I made the pancakes and they turned out pretty good! Just thought you would all want to hear about that! ;D Did I Miss Something? My dad preached at Lafayette last night. It was fun seeing college people who used to go to our church. :) Oh man, let me tell you, the college guys have the most interesting conversations! First facial hair...then they moved on to handshakes. Anyways, Zachary and Josh Bright were talking about something that went WAAYY over my head. So they laughed at me for a while, then on the way home I didn't get several things till like the third time people said them. Soo...my mom called me spacy and...yeah. It's so sad. I'm just not a fast thinker, ok?? ;) Verse of the Day: "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of , I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." ~Psalm 23:1-6~ Song of the Day: "My Paper Heart" ~All-American Rejects~ Quote of the Day: "Did you know that light travels faster than sound? That is why a lot of people appear to be bright before you hear them." ~Unknown~ (Allen told me this in the car last night...it took me a while, but I finally got it!! ;)) Charity | 12:43 pm Comments-[ comments.]

Sorry everyone. I'm sure you all just practically died from deprivation from the story of my life! ;) So, now you'll get a nice, looong one! Hmm...where to start? I suppose I will start by saying never go to Zachary's "website"! You will regret it, trust me! Anyways, this is the longest time that I have gone without updating in a long time! I shall tell all. Let's start with the most interesting, exciting subject! School I have been so busy with school! Although, I must admit that I haven't been as diligent as I should have been. I procrastinated a lot this week and it showed in my speech and biology test. :( Okay, the speech thing was sort of funny, I guess. See, for my demonstration speech I did a makeover on Grace. It was really fun, except I hadn't had a chance to practice on HER, only on my sisters. Weeell, there was one, tiny little . I, somehow or another, got some mascara under her eye. I said, "Oops" and tried to rub it off, but it just made it worse! Everyone was laughing and as I tried to fix it, they just laughed harder! I must admit, it was pretty funny and I'm sure if Grace hadn't kept a straight face, I would have started laughing myself. And, of course, everyone heard about our demonstrations and wanted to come and watch! So our audience was about twice as big as usual! I wasn't really embarrassed when I was up there, but afterwards when I got comments like, "Grace, you did really good," and, "You covered your mistake well" - that was slightly embarassing! *sigh* and my biology test...well I had studied quite a bit, but apparently not enough. I forgot one term, which I feel very stupid for, and I'm sure I will be pretty disappointed with my grade. I guess I will just have to work harder next week and in weeks to come. You Learn Something New Everyday Last night the gi.rls from my speech class and I had the opportunity to go to the Right-to-Life banquet. A lady named Mrs. Price had 5 free tickets that were meant for Covenant Christian High School students who couldn't attend because they were on their Fall Break. Anyways, Mrs. Baumgardener had talked to Mrs. Price and told us in class on yesterday. She offered it first to Juniors and Seniors, but there is only one Junior in our class and he couldn't go. So, just we gi.rls ended up going. It was a little bit scary, being dropped off downtown by our parents. (hey, don't make fun! ;)) The food was delicious! And there were, get this, three forks! Haha, I thought it was funny! The speaker was a really neat guy (I don't remember his name) and he had a ton of jobs, had appeared on radio stations and on TV shows, including Oprah. He has ten kids, all (I think) adopted from mothers who didn't want or couldn't take care of their children. He was an excellent speaker - very funny and totally comfortable in front of so many people. He didn't even use the podium! I can only dream of being that good of a public speaker! I could go on and on about it, but if you really want to know you can ask me. :) Parents This morning my dad decided that we would have "Fall Break" and not have school today. About an hour after he decided that, he changed his mind and said they we had to do it after all. My mom decided it would probably be best because they were going to be gone and it would give us something to do while they weren't at home. My mom is at the women's retreat right now. I hope they all have lots of fun! Tonight we had a Bible study, organized by Emily Sturm, Ashley Rusk, and Eleni Elder for young gi.rls. It was a really good time. Emily gave a wonderful lesson on honoring our parents. I think we often don't realize how much our parents do for us! In the beginning she asked us all to tell one or two characteristics we admired about our parents. People said things like they admired the commitment and selflessness of their parents. Think about our mom's especially. They hardly have any time for themselves! Most mothers commit almost all of their time caring for their husbands and children! And fathers make all those extra sacrifices to provide for their family. I admire my dad's ability to be fun and silly and make people laugh, as well as his wonderful knowledge and teaching, especially about the things of God. I can't imagine not having the parents I do. I encourage you all, as Emily did us, to pray for your parents every day. Make it a real priority in your prayer life. I know it's something I want to definitely work on. Prayer One quick thing: Please pray for Jeremiah and his family and also Katie Long and her family. You can read about Jeremiah on his blog and Katie Long had major back surgery. I don’t know very many details about it, but I do know that she is in a LOT of pain. I’m sure they would both appreciate everyone’s prayers! Sorry this is so incredibly long, everyone! I just had to get you all caught up! ;) Oh and I meant to post this last night, but ran out of time! Hope everyone has a great weekend! God Bless! Verse of the Day: “‘Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise.” ~Ephesians 6:2~ (Short verse, great application!) Song of the Day: "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" ~Stacie Orrico~ Quote of the Day: "The Founding Fathers in their wisdom decided that children were an unnatural strain on parents. So they provided jails called schools, equipped with tor.tures called an education." ~ John Updike~ Charity | 1:07 am Comments-[ comments.] |
